Configuring Popup Maker

The Popup Maker menu will be revealed in your WordPress administration menu after being installed and enabled. This is where you should hover and then you should click on settings in case you want to configure the plug-in.

In the Popup Maker settings page there will be 5 tabs that will have:

-the tab of the general: in it, you are going to see the general settings of the plugin, i.e., the option of the default theme by which you will be working with your popups, and the settings concerning the usage of the Gutenberg block. It is very easy and simple to create our own theme in Popup Maker. The developers have ensured that they have given priority to the user accessibility. We also have an editor that has live preview and this makes it even easier.

Among the customization options of the theme, it is easy to choose the fonts and their color, background color, and the text container color.

I am also in control of the border and could determine the level of its visibility. More so, the same customization can be applied to the Close button.

Through this tab, you are able to enable or disable the monitoring of the use of your popups. Do not forget to press the Save button to save your settings.

Create your first popup with Popup Maker

At this point, the menu will hover the “Popup Maker” menu, but to get the popup editor, you will need to click on the menu item which is labeled; “Add Popup”.

The Popup Maker makes it easy to create a popup because of the editor, which resembles the WordPress content editor. In this editor you will be required to fill in the identification name of the popup, the title which will appear when a visitor views it, and contents in the popup.

A bit below you will have the settings of the popup which you are about to create. One will have the following options:

  • Triggers: This is the part that holds the parameters that tell when the popup would be opened. Click on the button “Add New Trigger and then in the list,  select the one you want.

In this case I will select Time Delay / Automatic opening with 500ms delay before the pop up appears:

You should then set the cookies of the popup to define the duration of time the choice made by the user would be saved.

  • Target: Gives you the choice of when the popup will be displayed and on what type of device.

Display: Provides several display options of the popup, including its size, animations and other options that you can make.

  • Close: Allows you to edit the text on the button giving users the opportunity to close the popup. This tab also allows you to set the time after which the close button can appear and also you will find the options of submitting forms and other closing modes that could be used with your popup.

Advanced: Allows you to turn off the accessibility features and automatic re-triggering of pop-ups after attendance of a non-Ajax form. This is to avoid cases of this popup reopening in the visitor after he or she has already filled the form.

Once you have finished what you desire to do on your settings, you can save and publish your popup by clicking the button that is depicted as Publish. That’s it! And now we need only look at the way it is to the visitor.

My Final Thoughts on Popup Maker

Having tested Popup Maker on our WordPress education site, I could say that it is nearly the all-the-beauty of the functioning of popups and their creation. The plugin is not complicated and has diverse customization capabilities. The only indisputed feature is that certain of the more desirable extensions, such as AJAX Login Modals, are premium. Nevertheless, the simplicity variant gives you potential to do so much and has a lot of choice on creativity.
